Biography

Duncan Armstrong OAM is an Australian former competitive swimmer, world record-holder and Olympic champion. Raised in the Central Queensland town of Rockhampton, he is best remembered for winning a gold and silver medal at the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Since retiring from competitive swimming, Duncan spent 15 years in all types of sports media commentating and hosting before moving into event hosting and inspirational speaking. He’s also been Young Australian of the Year, has received an Order of Australia Medal and has successfully inspired countless others to achieve their highest corporate and personal goals.

Nowadays Duncan divides his time between raising his five children with his wife Rebecca, media work, corporate coaching, charitable partnerships, and his services to the community. He also runs a business, Peak Impact, which focuses on corporate leadership development and speaking events.

Three years ago, at the age of 52, Duncan suffered a heart attack and needed urgent triple bypass surgery. He is a proud ambassador for HRI and is committed to helping raise awareness about cardiovascular disease and heart health.
