JJ’s Waste & Recycling and In Vitro Technologies have supported HRI since 2006 and have donated over half a million dollars towards HRI’s life-saving research into cardiovascular disease during this time.
JJ's started in 1932 and has grown to be one of the largest privately owned waste management companies in Australia. It is still managed by the family of the founder, John Joseph Richards. Heart disease is a cause important to the Richards family, as it is to many Australians – affecting one in every six Australians.
We were delighted to visit JJ’s head office in Brisbane and carry out checks for atrial fibrillation (a common heart condition characterised by an irregular heartbeat which can be a risk factor for stroke) for the staff there.
