HRI success in Sydney Nano Grand Challenge
Molecular Nanorobotics for Health, a project co-led by Dr Anna Waterhouse, Cardiovascular Medical Devices Group Leader at HRI, has been chosen as one of Sydney Nano’s five Grand Challenges in recognition of its potential social, economic and scientific impact.
2018 Sydney Cardiovascular Symposium
The Heart Research Institute (HRI) and the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute (VCCRI) formally partnered for the second time to host the 2018 Sydney Cardiovascular Symposium, 5–7 December at the Charles Perkins Centre, The University of Sydney.
HRI awarded at Annual Scientific Meeting
Congratulations to Dhanya Ravindran and Dr Lining (Arnold) Ju, who both took home awards from the 2018 Joint Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian Atherosclerosis Society (AAS), Australian Vascular Biology Society (AVBS) and High Blood Pressure Research Council of Australia (HBPRCA), held in Glenelg, Adelaide, 27–30 November.

Dr Bo Remenyi, one of the first female paediatric cardiologists in Australia and 2018 Australian of the Year for the Northern Territory, recently presented a public lecture on ‘Sliding door moments and rheumatic heart disease’, hosted by the Heart Research Institute as part of our annual Illuminate event celebrating science.

Dr Steven Wise, Leader of the Applied Materials Group at HRI, has been awarded a prestigious National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Development Grant for his work inventing a sealant technology for valves used in heart surgery.
