HRI would like to thank the James and Jutta Lauf Foundation for their major gift of $35,000, which has enabled us to buy vital equipment.
The Foundation aims to advance health, particularly for people living with chronic illness.
As our scientists continue to expand their groundbreaking research, the development team looks at new opportunities to support them. The James and Jutta Lauf Foundation expressed their interest in supporting the purchase of new equipment for our laboratories because they see a critical need to ensure Australian researchers have access to world-class facilities.
“Funding from the James and Jutta Lauf Foundation has given HRI the ability to upgrade critical equipment in our laboratories.”
"Without ongoing investment into our labs, we would struggle to be able to conduct research that is world-class." said HRI Laboratory and WHS Manager, Anthony Gurlic.
With the major gift, HRI purchased vital equipment including iblot machines that enable high throughput investigation of proteins from cell samples; a freezer that drops to temperatures as low as minus 80oC for storage of samples; and equipment for the Fluxomics Centre that allows researchers to prepare 80 samples for simultaneous analysis in as little as an hour.
